Australia’s Biggest Singalong!
Live Event | 2021 | SBSHosted by Julia Zemiro and Miranda Tapsell, “Australia’s Biggest Singalong!” aims to activate our live national audience to reclaim the joy of singing – giving Australians from around the nation the opportunity to connect and interact with others while they learn to sing in harmony the much loved Aussie classic – Hunters and Collector’s “Throw Your Arms Around Me”.
Astrid Jorgenson and Waveney Yasso, the founders of ‘Pub Choir and Couch Choir’ – the team who have been bringing together thousands of people from around the world to sing in harmony and embrace the joy of singing -will lead the 400 plus audience at THE SYDNEY TOWN
HALL culminating in a special one off performance with Mark Seymour.
“Australia’s Biggest Singalong!” will cross live to remote sites in Cairns, Brisbane, the Mid North Coast of NSW and Broome and showcase hundreds of keen singers joining via zoom from around Australia. There will be special guest performances from Dami Im – featuring Scotty Aplin & The Gospel 6 and The Nepean Performance and Creative Arts High School Signing choir, Mitch Tambo supported by The S2S Squad choir, The Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir, Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, the Brisbane Pub Choir supporters
and community choirs from all around this great country of ours.
Together we will be creating a new musical performance unique to just this night!!
And, throughout the show, we’ll also be learning a bit more about just how much singing can impact our health, wellbeing and connection as a society via our moving and insightful pre-recorded stories.
